Extract Youtube Video to MP3 for Mac

This tips is mainly to shows how to extract youtube video to mp3 for mac

Part 1. If you have downloaded youtube video on computer, and want to extract youtube video to mp3 for your portable player such as ipod, psp, iphone, creative zen,etc)or web use on Mac OS X, you can just refer to part 1.

After your download youtube video to your Mac OS X, you just need the third party software to extract youtube video to mp3.

Install and run Aimersoft Video Converter for Mac, import your youtube videos, in the main interface, select the output format as MP3, and then start conversion. Part 2. If you don't know to download free youtube video to mac os x, you may refer to this part.

It includes two ways:

1.Using free online video converter to download and convert youtube video to mp3.

Step1. Open this website: http://vixy.net/. It's a free online FLV converter.

Step2. Then go to YouTube http://www.youtube.com and find a video that you love. Copy the URL that in the Red box. Like this format: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdUUx5FdySs


Step3. Paste your video file URL to the input box (figure as follow), choose MP3 as output format, then wait for the conversion


Step4. When the conversion finished, we got the download link of the output video. Click the download link to download the video and save in your computer (remember where you save it in). Done.




2. With Firefox or Safari

1.If you have Firefox browser, you can follow these steps.
Step1. Install the videodownloader extension. This is a free plug-in for Firefox. It enables you capture streaming video from website. Here is the Download link:

After installing videodownloader, restart Firefox. In the bottom right, you'll see a little box. Go to the video you want to download, double click that little box, and select download link. Then you could download the streaming video you want. (Note, you have to rename the file extension from "html" to "flv")




You have to rename the file extension from "html" to "flv" when you save the link. (Make sure your compute is show file extension)




2.If you use Safari on Mac, you can use Safari’s Activity Window to Save YouTube Videos
Safari has a powerful tool called the “Activity” window, which can be used to download YouTube (or any other video site) videos, files from websites

Simply go to the YouTube video page where the video plays, click Window -> Activity, The activity window will look something like this when a YouTube page is open:



We’re looking for is the flv video file, which will most likely be the largest file of the list (highlighted above).

Select that file, hit copy and paste it into the Downloads window (Window -> Downloads), and the video will start downloading to your desktop.
Note: With YouTube videos, the downloaded file will be called “get_video” with no file extension, you’ll need to rename it to “something.flv”, in order to be able to play it.


After your download youtube video to computer, just refer to Part 1 to extract youtube video to mp3 on Mac OS X. Done
